Spring is an exciting time of the year. The weather starts to get nicer, the days get longer, outdoor patios are beginning to open, and its finally time to start enjoying our favorite Spring wines! Spring weather means its time to switch from the heavier red wines to the sweet rosés and zesty white wines. At Bacchus, located in the North End of Corolla in the Outer Banks, we have a unique selection of delicious Springtime wines. Here are a few of our Spring favorites.
2019 Sangiovese/Prugnolo Gentile “Il Rose di Casanova,” La Spinetta, Toscana
This rosé has some of the most amazing scents, tastes, and a beautiful color. It is a light orange/pink color and smells like white peach, intense tangerine, strawberry, and floral. This rosé has juciy citrus and red fruit flavors that give it a smooth finish.
2018 Chardonnay Chalk Hill, Sonoma Valley
This bold yet smooth Chardonnay is a great choice for when you’re dining with us this Spring. The taste of this chardonnay is filled with fruit flavors like nectarine, apple, and a little bit of butterscotch. It is a beautiful golden color and smells like honey, lemon, and delicious toasted almonds. Chalk Hill Chardonnay gives a crisp and refreshing sip, perfect for the Spring time.
2020 Pinot Grigio, Villa Marchesi, Friuli
This pinot grigio is a another amazing and flavorful Spring wine. Villa Marchesi has a strong apple and pear taste with great acidity. This pinot grigio goes perfectly with seafood, which we have plenty of here at Mare!
2019 Sauvignon Blanc “Miller Ranch,” Silverado, Napa Valley
Looking for a silky texture and light sauvignon Blanc? We have the perfect one here at Mare! This sauvignon blanc is a very pale yellow/gold color. It smells like delicious honeydew melon, grass, and minerals and tastes like lime, green apples, and dried herbs.
